From Vision to Venue: One Year of Sweetgrass Hall
This month, we’re celebrating one year of Sweetgrass Hall, and it’s hard to put into words how meaningful this milestone is for us. As small business owners, expanding beyond catering and stepping into a venue of our own was both exciting and humbling. What began as a dream to grow our business became a space where milestones are celebrated, ideas come to life, and community is brought together—and we’re incredibly grateful for every moment shared within these walls.
From the start, we envisioned Sweetgrass Hall as a space that felt intentional and elevated without losing its warmth. We wanted something intimate yet polished—a venue where luxury feels welcoming, not intimidating. Designed to host corporate gatherings, weddings, and social events of all kinds, Sweetgrass Hall is the perfect backdrop for everything from birthdays and anniversaries to baby showers and beyond. It’s a place for beautifully curated celebrations, thoughtful details, and experiences that feel both personal and memorable, no matter the occasion.
The name Sweetgrass Hall holds deep personal meaning for us. Our mother was a sweetgrass basket maker, and watching her preserve tradition through her hands left a lasting impression on our lives. Choosing this name was our way of honoring her, the Gullah Geechee culture, and the Lowcountry roots that shape who we are. It was important that the space not only look beautiful, but also carry a story—one rooted in heritage, resilience, and legacy.
As we reflect on this first year, we’re filled with gratitude for every client, partner, and supporter who believed in our vision. Sweetgrass Hall is more than a venue—it represents growth, culture, and the courage to expand while staying grounded in who we are. If you’re planning a corporate event, wedding, or social celebration, we invite you to experience
Sweetgrass Hall for yourself. Reach out to schedule a tour, inquire about availability, or start planning your next unforgettable gathering with us.
