National Small Business Week!
This week, we celebrate the backbone of our communities and the engine of our economy: small businesses! From April 28th to May 4th, it's National Small Business Week, a time to recognize the incredible contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners.
As a small business owner of more than 12 years, Carolima's is excited to be a part of this community. We are appreciative of each one of you who patronize us and refer us to your friends and corporate partners. Remember, we need you in order to keep thriving and growing!
The United States Small Business Administration defines a small business as having fewer than 500 employees. As of 2020, small businesses made up 99.4% of the workforce in our state.
Why are small businesses so important to our communities?
- They create jobs: Small businesses are responsible for a whopping two out of every three new jobs created in the U.S. each year. That's a significant impact on employment and economic growth.
- They fuel innovation: Small businesses are often at the forefront of innovation, bringing fresh ideas and creativity to their industries.
- They strengthen communities: Small businesses are deeply woven into the fabric of our communities. They provide essential services, sponsor local events, and create a unique character for our neighborhoods.
Celebrating National Small Business Week
This week is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for small businesses. Here are a few ways you can participate:
- Shop small! Make a conscious effort to shop at local stores and restaurants this week.
- Spread the word! Share your favorite small businesses on social media and encourage others to shop local.
- Attend local events! Many communities host events and workshops throughout National Small Business Week. These are great opportunities to learn more about small businesses in your area and network with local entrepreneurs.
We live in a city where supporting a small business is super easy because we have so many to choose from. Please make a conscious effort this week to shop local and support a small business in your community.
Let's take this week to celebrate the incredible impact of small businesses on our lives. By supporting small businesses, we're investing in the future of our communities and our economy.
