Proud Black Owned Business

Black owned, small businesses have always held a special place in my heart even before I knew it. As a child we had the neighborhood candy store which was our go to for everything. Little did I know I was fueling the economy and helping to create jobs. As I matured, I realized that local, black owned businesses help communities to thrive. I learned to support black owned, locally small businesses and it always made me feel good. 

Some of the benefits of supporting a black owned, small business is that most of them know you which is a nice feeling when you're spending money with someone. The other benefit is that your support can help the business experience growth and expansion. Most people who support black owned, small businesses are loyal customers. While price is important it's usually not the deciding factor for the customer. They're more driven by supporting their community by helping to create jobs and fueling the local economy. 

As a black owned, small business owner, at Carolima's we pride ourselves on giving our customers the best service and we support our community in any way we can. We source items from local vendors and have several non-profits that we share our time, talents and treasure with.  

We also give back to our community by hosting our Business & Brews series that is focused on African American men interested in entrepreneurship or currently entrepreneurs. Our goal is to provide a safe space where African American men can share with other like-minded individuals. If you know an African American man who could use the camaraderie and encouragement of others, please invite them to participate. It's always a free event and dinner is provided. 

Lastly, I challenge you all to support a black, locally owned small business this week. We need you all to continue doing our work of supporting the community.
